Your wedding day isn't a photoshoot.
It's meant to be lived, not performed—honest, alive, and entirely yours. It's the moment your grandpa decides to give a speech even though he wasn't on the timeline. It's that first walk back down the aisle as a married couple—pure joy, relief, and "we actually just did that" energy. It's your dad seeing you for the first time and trying not to cry. It's all the little things that don't feel monumental in the moment but become everything when you look back.
I'm here to capture the real stuff while you stay present in it. No stiff poses. No fake laughs. Just you, your people, and a day that actually feels like yours.
Hi, I'm Sam. I'm probably going to cry at your wedding. But I'm also going to make you feel like you're absolutely crushing it, keep things chill when the timeline goes sideways, and capture all those in-between moments that make your day yours.
My approach? I blend into the background, document the honest stuff, and gently guide you when it helps. I'll hype you up—but in a "you got this" way, not a "POSE AND SMILE" way.
What you get is a mix of documentary realness with some editorial moments if you're feeling it. Film and digital images that are nostalgic, a little grainy, and full of feeling. Not Instagram-perfect. Just real.
I work with couples across Fernie, Cranbrook, Golden, Kimberley, and throughout British Columbia—from backyard elopements to mountain ceremonies to full celebrations with everyone you've ever loved.
Here's what I want you to know: your wedding doesn't need to look like everyone else's Pinterest board. It shouldn't, actually.
Love a good trend? Amazing, let's do it. Want to throw out all the traditions and do something totally you? Even better.
The couples who look back with zero regrets are the ones who made their day feel like them—not like what they thought a wedding was "supposed" to be. And yeah, you need a timeline (I'll help you make one), but you also need flexibility and buffer room because—let's be real—shit happens. Grandpa's going to want to say a few words. Your best friend's going to ugly cry longer than planned. The sunset's going to be too good to skip.
The best days are the ones that leave room to breathe, laugh, and actually be present.

"My husband and I had the most amazing experience with Sam! She is a natural with an amazing eye for detail, but most importantly made us feel so comfortable and relaxed as getting your photos taken isn't an everyday occurrence for us! And the photos were AMAZING and exactly what I wanted."
"go with Sam if you are wanting photos to look back on for a life time"

Photography is where art and connection meet for me, and I don't take that lightly. You're not just another booking—I remember the vows, the tears, the way your dog crashed the ceremony. Every couple, every story matters.
I'm here for the people who want their photos to feel lived-in and loved-up. Who care more about feeling than perfection. Who want to look back and remember exactly how this felt.
I'm based in Fernie, BC and work with couples throughout the province and beyond. Wherever your day takes you, I'm there.
If that sounds like you—let's make something beautiful together.
