April in Fernie, BC means the weather could be great or it can be terrible and you have to have your maternity session at home. That’s how B&B’s story went for their film-inspired maternity session, but hey, having your session at your home, the place where your grow your family together is a pretty special place. As a Fernie photographer, I’m all for at home sessions! My clients get to be in the comfort of their own space, just doing their everyday thing together and it is pretty beautiful to witness.
Film-Inspired Maternity Photos
This was one of the sweetest maternity sessions that I’ve had the opportunity to photograph as a Fernie photographer. B&B are probably the coolest and cutest parents to be. The ease of their relationship and the genuine love they have for one another is so special. They certainly made my job easy, just flowing with one another, like they would any day. Their sweet pup, Scarlett hung out with us as she prepares to be a big sister very soon.
We started the session just hanging out and chatting, and spending time in the nursery that was a very cool project they worked on together. Almost everything in the room was thrifted, and the aesthetic is so dreamy! It is going to be a cozy place to spend time once little babe is born.
We moved room to room, moving slow and taking in every moment. B ran out to grab coffees part way through while we did some solo photos with B. The weather decided to chill out for a moment and we were able to capture a few shots outside on their deck.
Truly a Saturday morning so well spent. Getting to hang out and spend the morning with new friends, drinking coffee and creating memories for them as they wait for the arrival of their newest addition. Here are a sneak peeks from their film inspired maternity session.
