As a Fernie, BC wedding photographer, I’ve seen all sorts of couples & ceremony styles. With Marisa & Dylan’s Fernie Alpine Resort wedding, they seamlessly combined heartfelt details and an intimate guest list without sacrificing elegance or show-stopping mountain views. It was beautifully done from start to finish!
Why Choose Fernie Alpine Resort for Your Wedding?
If you’re not local to the area, just know that the mountain views at the Fernie Alpine Resort are impeccable. This Fernie wedding venue is ideal for couples looking for a more intimate ceremony, as their max capacity is a hundred people. For more venue options in the area, check out my guide to Fernie wedding venues, which covers other stunning locations nearby. There’s a catch to this dreamy venue, however. You can only get married at this location in late June to early September, but if you can get in on the schedule, it’s so worth it! Despite the guest list limits, couples have several choices for where they share their vows at the resort. It’s also fantastic for hanging out afterward if you’re an adventurous couple who loves hiking, sightseeing, and just the great outdoors. The best part? Fernie Alpine Resort wedding packages are very reasonable and customizable!
Summer Wedding in Fernie BC
Since they are both Fernie locals, Marisa and Dylan knew there was no better place to exchange their vows. By choosing Fernie Alpine Resort, they were able to invite their closest family & friends in a town they hold dear. Every detail, down to the month they chose for their big day, was sentimental and meaningful. They shared with me that August is the anniversary of when they first confessed their love for each other. How special is it that it’s now the anniversary of this couple committing to forever?
Backyard Reception in Fernie BC
While their wedding ceremony took place at Fernie Alpine Resort, they decided on a reception in their parents’ backyard. They even shared a family-style table! It was so cool to see everyone sitting together and celebrating the couple. With only 30 guests in attendance, it was incredibly personal and close-knit. They were intentional about every detail. Because they kept the guest list more minimal, Marisa was even able to write letters to each of their guests. Before the ceremony, her mom hand-delivered the letters which was touching to witness. This heartfelt act was something I don’t often see as a wedding photographer.
Editorial Style Wedding Photos in BC
Marisa’s & Dylan’s Fernie Alpine Resort wedding day was a combination out of this world. They managed to have the best of both worlds with stunning views and a cozy, backyard reception. As their wedding photographer, a film-inspired approach with editorial vibes was the clear choice for this couple. It didn’t have the feel of the over-the-top weddings, and it was important to keep the style equally as personal and intimate as the wedding day itself. These two were truly present on their wedding day, and it was such a joy to witness. Congratulations, Marisa & Dylan!
