This maternity session with Ang and Caleb, and their pup Banjo, took place in a tucked-away corner of Fernie, BC, surrounded by dense greenery, towering trees, and the kind of stillness that holds space for all that’s to come.
As a Fernie photographer, I’m drawn to documenting moments that feel honest, cinematic, and slightly unexpected. Ang and Caleb brought that energy with them—completely themselves, fully grounded, and wildly in love with this phase of life that’s both new and rooted in everything they’ve built together.

This wasn’t your traditional maternity shoot—and that’s exactly what made it feel so right. Instead of soft poses and curated smiles, we leaned into something a little more editorial. Edges, movement, emotion. We wandered through green corridors of trees, Banjo weaving in and out of the frame like the beloved sidekick he is, and let the session unfold in a way that felt organic to them.
There’s a certain intimacy that happens when we let go of the need to perform and just exist—especially during a session like this.
